The Outlawz Twisted Thursday - Hello Spring

I am excited to share that I have the opportunity to be the Guest Designer at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday this week!

For this week’s challenge the Twist is: "Anything Goes"

Our APRIL sponsor

I wanted to create a bright graded watercolor background.   I used my favorite Schminke Watercolor.

I selected  the pretty butterfly from Limited Runs.   I thought this would help encourage the sun to shine and touch us with it's warmth!   LOL

I colored the butterfly with Copic Alcohol Ink Markers and then fussy cut the image.  I also traced the image to some dark blue cardstock four times and popped them up with dimensional tape.   I used the stamp and die that states friend and dotted the "I" with a rhinestone to add some glitz!

Hope to see you at the Twisted Thursday Challenge.  You can find it HERE.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

Green cardstock,  black cardstock, Stonehenge  paper for colored pencils , white cardstock,  Misty, mini-mister, paper trimmer, Prismacolor Pencils,  Diamond glitter, Squeezed Lemon Distress Ink,

The designer paper was selected from the Tropical Paradise Designer Paper Collection. Use the Foldout Card as a template for cutting the panels.   I chose to cover the panels on the front and back of the foldout.

Cut the trim from green cardstock using the Flour border Basics Die six times.   Each panel has the trim applied to the front and back.   This is a great tutorial from Emma Lou on creating Border Essential Die - https://www.heartfeltcreations.us/video/136/quick-tips-and-techniques-with-border-essential-dies-to-create-stunning-cards HERE.      Cut four  ornate border die and adhere together with Designer Dries Clear Adhesive. This will give the die a lot of strength.   Adhere to the  top of the base panel.

Stamp the tropical bird images on Stonehenge paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
Color the birds with Prismacolor pencils.  The following Prismacolor Combos were used.
(Cockatoo Image) - Jasmine, Terra Cotta, Peach Beige, White, Putty Beige,Spring Green Kelp Green, Sepia, Lemon Yellow, Pink Rose, Mulberry, Lavender.
(Flamingo)- Putty Beige, Peach Beige, Terra Cotta, Sienna Brown, Dark Brown.

Die cut the birds with corresponding die.   I prefer to cut 3 extra layers of each bird from left over scrap cardstock  and adhere the layers with Designer Dries Clear Adhesive.   This will add thickness  and dimension to the images.

Stamp the Plumeria on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Dye Ink.  Die cut  the flower with the Tropical Plumeria Die.    Sponge the petals with Berrylicious ColorBox Ink and with Squeezed Lemon Distress Ink.  Stamp and die cut the leaves from the Tropical Cockatoo set.  Sponge with the Bamboo Leaves, Olive Grove and Teal Memento Ink.   Shape  the Plumeria and leaves with the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit.   Tip -  It helps to lightly mist the back of the water before shaping.  This will help to break down the paper fibers!   Watch this tutorial by Emma Lou on how to shape the Plumeria!  https://youtu.be/6B5t9exttw0

Die cut the "Aloha" from the Orange designer paper the the Tropical Paradise Paper Collection.   Pop up the tropical birds with dimensional dots and adhere the word  "Aloha" with Designer Dries Clear Adhesive.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed the new Tropical Paradise Collection.   You can check it out at Heartfelt Creations' New Products.

Heavy white card stock was cut at 5 1/2 inches x 11 inches.  The paper was scored at 5 1/2 inches to create a "top-fold" card base.   The base layer green card stock was cut at 5 1/4 inches x 5 1/4 inches.   The designer paper was selected from the Cascading Fuchsia paper Collection and was cut at 5 inches x 5 inches.   The layers were adhered with double sided tape.  You can cut an additional base layer and designer paper if you want to decorate the inside of your card.  If you choose to have white space for writing a note, you can cut a 4 1/2 in. x 4 1/2 inch white card stock layer and apply to the top of your designer paper on the inside.

The stamp was embossed with  a Versamark Embossing Ink Pad and  Fine Detail Black Embossing Powder.  The flower was heat set and allowed to cool.   Using the same process, the smaller fuchsia flowers were embossed with white embossing powder .  The flowers were colored with a RV17 Copic Marker and then blended with a RV11 marker.   The flowers were lightly misted with a small amount of water and shaped using the  Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit.   Emma Lou, Creative Director of Heartfelt Creations has a wonderful video on how to shape the gorgeous fuchsia flowers.  You can view her video tutorial HERE.

The leaf was cut using  X-Press It Blending Card  Stock with the Classic Leaf Die.  The leaves were colored using Copic alcohol ink markers - Y02, G21, G24, YG63.   The leaves were lightly shaped and adhered over the border die cut.  The fuchsia flowers were adhered using Designer Adhesive (Dries Clear).

The Sentiment was stamped with embossing ink and white embossing powder.  The sentiment was heat set.   The green and white card stock was cut with oval nesting die.

Have a wonderful day!
Keep crafting!
