Incredible Friends!!!

I discovered a new exciting place called "Crafters Digital Art Center". The site has new digital images by many gifted artists. The site is just waiting for you to sign on as a member and join in for challenges and fun.

This darling little image is called "Incredible Friends". As you know, digital images are the rage. They can be sized and the images flipped. The possibilities are endless! This digital image is from Nicecrane Designs and created by the very talented Ignacio. He has a passion for "Vintage" images. His website and digital images can be found.....
HERE

This a close up of the image, "Incredible Friends".

This is how I created my vintage background.

The challenge was to use this "Incredible" little image created by Ignacio and to give it a vintage look of at least 100 years. I used designer paper for the background and sponged Vintage Photo" Distress Ink around the edges. I used white ribbon and altered the color with a Copic marker that matched the color of the distress ink. W!hy invest in every color of ribbon when you can alter them with your markers? LOL OK, I confess, I alter my ribbon ... but I also have every color under the sun... You just have to have it!!! LOL

The focal image was place on the distressed background. As you can see, the altered ribbon coordinates nicely with the background and focal image. I then curled one bottom corner of the focal image with a quilling tool to enhance the vintage effect.

I hope you enjoyed my card and will stop by soon. If you haven't tried the Crafters Digital Art Center or visited Nicecrane Designs, please take the time to do so... you will be in for a treat!

Crafters Digital Art Center

I discovered a new fun site Crafters Digital ARt Center. The site has new digital stamps by many gifted artists. The site is just waiting for you to sign on as a member and join in for challenges and fun.

This is my first challenge with a wonderful Nicecrane Design by the very talented Ignacio The darling little image is called "Incredible Friends".

The challenge was to use this cute little image and to give it a vintage look.
This is a close=up of the background I used.

I sponged the designer paper with distress ink and used a plain white ribbon. I colored the ribbon (the area that would show) with a copic marker that matched the distress ink.

I am so excited. I lan to get Photoshop Elements today and I hope I improve the look of the edges of my cards for posting. I just love the way my Copic instructor, Suzanne Dean posts her cards. She makes a wonderful edge that blends and drawas the eye to the actual card without altering the original look. It just makes it look like it belongs on the screen! She emailed me the instructions on how she does this and I can hardly wait to get started!

I Won! I Won the Monochromatic Challenge!

As you know, I am taking an On-line Copic class from Suzanne Dean at  http://scrapbitzcopics.ning.com/.  We have the opportunity to participate in challenges that allow us to practice all our new skills.  The challenges are twice a month and we can post our work on our blog site after the challenge is over and the winner has been selected.  Well....... I won! I won! (Oh ya, did I tell you I am a little excited?)   I am so surprised and beyond ecstatic!  Here it is -

This little fella was colored with:
Face and hands: Copics E000, E00 and E11
Mummy wrappings : E33,35,37,40
Background:  I  tore strips of paper
and sponged antique linen and old burlap distress ink on the strips
I cut the mummy out and used pop dots to place the mummy on top of the  background.
Isn't he just cute?  I should have the sentiment read "I want My Mummy"!  Oh, I can't believe I said that!

I also posted a second entry with these cute little girls...  it didn't win but I had loads of fun doing it. Let me just say...   I have a new appreciation for how difficult it is to actually do a monochromatic card.

I had a wonderful time cropping with my friends last night!  Kathleen made a wonderful pot of Amish Chicken Noodle Soup and I brought a loaf of crusty bread.  Melanie was celebrating a birthday this weekend so we celebrated with wonderful brownies for the occasion.  Barbara brought some almonds for our snack  so we could remain satiated while we were busy making our creations.   We worked at Kathleen's home until evening then we were off to Memories for the Making in Lodi for an evening of salad, pizza and fun cropping until 11:30.    Great food mixed with the worlds' greatest friends make for a fantastic day!

My next posting will be tomorrow....  I will post the two cards I made yesterday....  yes, it took me all day to do two cards... LOL

Thanks for stopping by and feel free to leave a comment and join my blog.  Poor Mary and Lee are getting lonesome!
