X-Press It Blending Card Stock, green card-stock, Copic Alcohol Ink Markers E000, E40, E41, E44, E49, E74, R20, G28, G40, YG61, YG63,  70% Alcohol,  scrap of terry cloth, Signo pen - white, sponge dauber, Misti Stamping Tool,

  • Cut heavy white card-stock to measure 11 x 4 1/4 inches and score at 5 1/2 inches to create a top-fold card.  Tip:   When you score - fold away from the embossed line (valley) to prevent the card-stock from cracking.  Avoid folding toward the mountain.  Cut green card-stock at 5 1/4 inches x 4 inches.   Select the designer paper from Monkeying Around Paper Collection.   Cut the designer paper at 5 inches x 3 3/4 inches.    Adhere the base layer and designer paper to the card base.

  • Stamp the monkey stamp set from  Monkey Antics  on X-Press It Blending Card Stock with Memento Tuxedo Black Dye. Color the monkeys using Copic Alcohol Ink Markers - E000, E40, E41, E44, E49, E74 and R20.  Make sure to add your shadows and highlights at this stage.  Add texture to the monkeys by applying 70% alcohol to a scrap of terry cloth.   Pull the little terry cloth fibers out so they will make a great impression (LOL - just a little pun).   Apply the cloth to the fur for 4 seconds and then lift.   Repeat process on the next section of fur.   The image will begin to show texture as it dries.  Avoid getting impatient and going over the area  again until it is completely dry.   You will find that it becomes very light and your texture shows when it dries.    The image can be cut with the corresponding Die - Monkey Antics Die.

  • Stamp the leaves - large and small multiple times using  the Monkeying Around Cling Stamp set. I used two of each size for my card.   Color the leaves with Copic Alcohol Ink Markers - G28, G40, YG61, YG63.  Cut the leaves using the corresponding  Monkeying Around Die Set.

  • Adhere the leaves behind the monkey using Designer Dries Clear Adhesive.  The focal image was popped up with dimensional dots.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you check out the wonderful Monkeying Around Collection from Heartfelt Creations!

Heartfelt Creations - Life is Good

Aloha from the wonderful island of Hawaii!   You may have guessed - I am still on vacation and this card is just appropriate for the occasion!    Heartfelt Creations really outdid themselves with this fabulous Monkeying Around Collection!   I decided to use the Relaxin' Monkeys Stamp Set.

It's rare that I do not use the fabulous die that come with Heartfelt Creations - but I was practicing one of my classes from Kit and Clowder and I couldn't resist having this little guy relaxing so much that he forgot that the waves are coming in!  LOL    I know - I should have had him back on the grass a little and could have showcased the wonderful tropical trees and monkey and flowers -   but as I said...   I couldn't resist the ocean waves.   I promise to use the die next week!

Stamp the Relaxin' Monkey image using Memento Tuxedo black Dye Ink on some Copic compatible paper.  I used X-Press It.   The image was colored using the following color combos -

Trim the focal image to 3 3/4 x 5 inches.  Sponge the edges with Memento Rich Cocoa Dye Ink and adhere the focal image to the brown layer.  Many members of our community ask for clean and simple cards -    So here is a  clean and simple card that  can easily go through standard  mail.

Cut heavy white card stock at 5 1/2 x 11 inches and score at 5 1/2 inches to create a top folding card.   Cut Green card stock at 5 1/4, x 5 1/4 inches.  Select the designer paper as shown in the picture.   The paper was from Monkeying Around Paper Collection.     Adhere the layers with double sided tape.

X-Press It Blending card stock, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad and Copic Markers were used for the images.   Stamp the hanging monkeys and banana from the Monkey Antics stamp set.  The monkey in the hammock  and fern were stamped with the Monkeying Around Cling stamp Set.   The flowers and palm tree were stamped from the Palm Tree and Monkeys Stamp Set.

The following color combos were used to color the focal images -
Monkey in hammock and monkeys hanging from tree -   E40, E41, E44, E47, E49, R20,  colorless blender, - banana Y00, Y11, Y15 - hammock Y11, Y11, Y15, YR23 - Palm Tree Trunk - E40, E41, E44, E44, E47, E49 - Palm tree branches and ferns- G40, G28, YG61, YG63, YG65 - Coconut - E30, E31, E33, E35, E39.  The flowers were stamped using Memento Rose Bud Ink Pad and sponged with he same ink.

Heartfelt Creations Relaxin' Monkeys Card

Welcome to our new Heartfelt Creations Release for March!
Let that wild, jungle spirit out and let's have some fun with the new Monkeying Around Collection!

I want to add fun texture to the little monkeys and to add a whimsical "bokeh" background!     Hope you enjoy!

Relaxin' Monkeys Cling Stamp Set, HCPC-3780
5 Piece Acrylic Block Set, SUAH05
Stamp Mat Pad, SMPOO1
Scor-Pal Measuring and Scoring Board, 173842
Card Stock - White, HCPP2-451
Sizzix Vagabond 2, 532423

Blue Card Stock, X-Press It Blending Card Stock, Copic Alcohol Ink Markers, large Q-Tips, 70% Rubbing Alcohol, Copic Colorless blender, sponge dauber, masking tape, wooden board, double sided tape, Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

Cut heavy white card stock at 5 1/2 inches x 11 inches and score at 5 1/2 inches to create a top fold card. Cut blue card stock at 5 1/4 inches x 5 1/4 inches.   Cut X-Press It Blending Card Stock or any Copic compatible card stock at 51/2 x 5 1/2 inches.  This will be trimmed later to 5  x 5 inches.

Stamp the monkey image on X-Press It  paper using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  The stamp is large so I used the largest acrylic block.    Apply tape around the edges on a solid board to prevent the paper from warping.   Bokeh  technique will work best if you create the background prior to coloring the focal image. Roughly color areas of the background with Copic B21, B91, B45, YG63, RV63.   Get good coverage but it does not need to be smooth.   Take a large Q-Tip and dip in 70% alcohol and place on paper for 3 seconds and lift.  Repeat process and allow enough room so the circles to not run into each other.   When dry, repeat the process in sporadic areas allowing the circles to overlap.   This will be repeated in a few areas so some of the bokeh appear to be in the foreground and others in the background.   Allow to dry.   Be careful to not allow the alcohol circles to run into your focal image.    Start the process in the outer edges so you can get the feel of how much the alcohol spreads at 3 second.   Touch up the areas around the image with B21 and B91.    Allow the background to dry.  Remove the masking tape and trim at 5 x 5 inches.   Sponge Tumbled Glass Distress Ink on the edges.

Place a clean sheet of paper under your image and color your focal image. The Monkey was colored with Copic E40, E41, E44, E47, E49 and Colorless Blender for texture.  The leaves and fern were colored with Copic G28, G40, YG61, YG63.

Adhere the layers.  This is a fun and easy card that can be mailed without requiring extra postage.

Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
