Inspiration from Tim Holtz

Hello and happy Friday!   I just enjoyed CHA so much.  I was mesmerized at  the Ranger booth and of course, by watching Tim Holtz  do his distress ink magic!   I even got a picture with him!   How lucky can one get!   I was super inspired just watching his wonderful creativity.    I decided to share a bookmark I created using Ranger's wonderful Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads.   I used Tina Wenke's Stampavie image, "Bird on Dogwood Branch" for my focal image. Tina Wenke is notorious for her cute and beautiful images.  This wonderful polymer stamp is no exception!

Copic Markers Used
Bird:  B27, B21, B01, B000 and B37 for Shadow area
Flowers: RV 23, RV21, RV000 and RV34 for shadow area
Leaves: G40, YG 63 and G95 for shadow area
Perfect Medium was used to stamp small butterflies and highlighted with Perfect Pearls Pigment.
If you do not have Perfect Medium, a VersaMark pad can be substituted.
The edges were generously sponged with Ranger Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
A gold tassel was applied to complete the bookmark.
I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy project!

CMC Challenge: Athena - Goddess of Wisdom

Happy Sunday everyone! I am back from CHA and had the time of my life! I had the opportunity to have lunch with Suzanne Dean and that was a blast. The crazy taxi driver had us car dancing all the way back to the hotel and then dance into the hotel. That was a first. Only with Suzanne could something like that happen! LOL

In addition, I had the opportunity to hang out with my wonderful cyber-friend, Patricia St. Martin.
It was wonderful to get to meet this very fun and talented woman. Pat is one of my design team buddies for Color Me Creative, The Outlaws: Twisted Thursday and Nicecrane Designs . We had so much fun that it was usually 2:00 or 4:00 each day before we remembered to eat. Now that is a new experience for me!

And now for news about Color Me Creative's new challenge! The theme is "something girlie"! Now how easy is that! No excuses to not play along! LOL.

OUR SPONSOR FOR THIS CHALLENGE IS:
Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps
One lucky winner will win either 3 KKS stamps or 1 Set of Stamps from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps

Kratin' Kimmie  provided me with this crazy-fun image to color up for you!  The name is Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom!    Isn't she a cutie?   Sometimes one just needs to loosen up and play around with your card and test new things! After studying this warrior woman, I decided she needed some BIG Manga eyes so- ere go! :).

I decided that a Goddess of Wisdom  needed an ornate surrounding so I folded strips of designer paper , gilded the edges with a gold leaf pen and adhered them to the corners of the card.

I hope you enjoyed this fun card, Remember, Suzanne has some wonderful Copic and alcohol ink classes on sale for the summer! Her classroom site is Color Me Creative. The link can also be found in Inlinks .

Take care, my wonderful friend and have a crafty week!
