Create a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch top folding card. Cut base layer from blue cardstock at 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches. Select the designer paper with the parrot as shown in the picture. Cut layer at 5 x 5 inches. Adhere the designer paper and base layer. Tie twine around the layers. Adhere the layers to the card base with heavy double sided tape.
Stamp the parrot from the Tropical Paradise Cling Stamp Set on X-Press It Blending Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Dye Ink. Color the bird with the following Copic Markers (R20, R22, R24, R27, W4, T1, T3, T5, T7, E30, E33, E35, E37, B000, B00, B21, B24). The tip of the wings were highlighted with opaque white ink. Die cut the image. For added strength, die cut the bird 4 times from dark blue cardstock and adhere together.
Stamp the leaves from the Tropical Cockatoo Stamp set and die cut. Repeat this process multiple times to add fullness behind the parrot. Sponge with Memento Olive Grove Dye Ink. Shape the leaves using the flower shaping tool.
Stamp the plumeria using the Tropical Plumeria Stamp Set. Die cut the flowers and sponge with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink and Lu Lu Memento Ink. Shape the petals and adhere the layers. Emma Lou has a wonderful video on creating the plumeria flowers HERE. Clear adhesive was applied lightly to the petals and white Gala Glitz was sprinkled on top.
Adhere the leaves, bird and plumeria with dimensional dots and clear adhesive.
The sentiment "Aloha" was die cut from the bright yellow and orange designer paper using the Tropical Parrots Die Set. The sentiment was applied using clear adhesive.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I always enjoy your visits!
