Totally Gorjuss:The Sweet Taste of Summer

Welcome!   Happy Friday..... or Saturday in the UK!    I created this card for our weekly Totally Gorjuss Challenge # 192.     Our theme is "sweet".   I know, I could have used my hedgie with the BIG cupcake.....   but I am on a diet.   Yep!   Down 26 pounds and seem to be in a holding pattern!   But I am working on it so I decided to create some sweet strawbetties for you!   I used "Sweet Strawberries"   illustrated by  Theresa Momber (GKD).  Strawberries will be  better on the waistline!     LOL

Close up

I  used colored pencils for the focl image - so it is not as bright as my usual images.    I do love colored pencils -   I should use them more :).

As you know - I am a "background junkie".     I love, love, love backgrounds!   I decided to try a new background yesterday.    If you look closely, you will see buterflies emerging from behind the strawberries!    I really  like how this turned out!    I actually used copics for the background.  I used BG0000, BG000, BG70 and BG72.

I am linking this card wth the following wonderful challenges:
That's it for today.  I have a video to ocmplete and then off the the California fair!    Have a safe and crafty weekend!

A Rose is a Rose

Welcome!

I want to share a card I created for our challenge at The Outlawz: Twisted Thursday.
We have a "BINGO" menu for you to choose from this week!   That is always fun because you have some choices and we always get some really creative cards!  ..

I have been trying to find where I bought this clear stamp.  I think it was froun Flourishes and it was called Parrot Rose.   I may be wrong because my Google searches did not help.   I found everything from roses to parrots but not parrot rose!  LOL   Anyway, it is one of my favorite images.  I first came across this stamp when Theresa Momber used it for one her here posts.... and I am certain she said it was from Flourishes.   I quickly ordered it and just love it!

I used copic sketch markers.   R20, R22, R24, R27,  and R27/C5/R27 sandwich.  The green leaves and stem are R20, R40, R45, R28.   My background is G40, W0 and Opaque White Ink by Copic.    I sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink and dry embossed the side of my mat.   The base mat is actually a little darker than the picture.

Join us at The Outlawz: Twisted Thursday for our weekly challenge!

Hugs,
Marie

Sea Shore Memories

Hello and happy Thursday!   I live in California and it is HOT! HOT! HOT!

I want to share a card I created for The Outlawz: Twisted Thursday Challenge for this week.  Our theme is always "Anything goes" but if you choose to participate in our twist for an extra opportunity to win - you can add a "BEACH" theme to you card or project!

With all the high temperatures in my area - I can really identify with this theme and would love to find myself walking along the beach!

This card was created with basic sponging and a few Copic Sketch Alcohol Ink Markers added to it.    I texturized the sand with colorless blender and added some waves with my B93 and B95 copic markers.

I am linking this card with the following challenges:

Thank you so much for stoppng by.    I know the weather has been crazy and very different from location to location .... but stay safe and come back soon.   I have a new card for you Friday! :D

Red, White and Blue - Just For You!

Hello and WELCOME!   It's time for our new challeng to be posted at SP & Company.
I guess you already figured it out....   but it is
RED, White and Blue!

This is a close up of the image I used.    Tina Wenke has a new release called Bird with Balloons.
It can be found HERE.  I love this little guy.  He just looks so happy!

I have three feather babies (along with two fur babies) and I have bird feeders around my entire patio.   I have tons and usually 13 - 18 turkeys come to visit as well.    I even have one little guy that looks in my bedroom window every morning (turkey - that is!  ) and if I don't pay attention to him or pretend to be asleep - he will  tap on the sliding gladd door with his beak.   This has been going on for two weeks now!

My focal  image is  colored on Cryogen paper and I used Copic sketch markers and Prisma Colored Pencils  to color the image.

Copics Used:
Bird:  B69, B26, B24, B21, B02, B01, B000 and a sandwich of B69/E25/B69. YR0000, Y000, Y0000, W1  and Prisma Pencils Cool Grey, Miramarie, Blanc, and Periwinkle

Thinking of You

mp70213
Hello and welcome!   Marie  here and it is Tip or Technique Tuesday!
I am so excited to share this new stamp I used for the first time this week.   I selected this beautiful flower from Teacups  by Lucy Cromwell (DoCrafts).
There are so many adorable stamps in this set I had a hard time deciding which to use first!    I think I will do one of the teacups next time!
My image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Dye Ink on Cryogen paper.
The focal image was colored with Sketch Copic Alcohol Ink markers
and I used a Faux Watercoor technique for my background.
The beautiful designer paper is from Wild Rose Studio and called Always and Forever.
Copics Used:
Flower:  RV0000, RV000, RV00, RV02, RV19, RV64, W1, G21, G99 and colorless blender
Faux Watercolor Background:  B0000, B00, B21,  RV0000, G40, W1, and Colorless Blender
Opaque White Ink
*****
And since it is Tuesday, I will share some information on Copic Ink.
If you are like me, our Copic markers occassionaly get low on ink and we need to refill the markers.
So how much ink should one use for refilling Copic markers?
This is a little guide.
mpVariousInkVarious Ink Refills
Measurement lines are marked on the bottle
Contains 25cc of ink.
Can refill an empty Ciao marker 15 times
Can refill an empty Sketch marker 12 times
Can refill a Copic (Original) 9 times
Can refill a Copic Wide marker 7 times
Copic Ciao marker
The Copic Ciao holds  about 1 – 1.5 cc ink
Copic Sketch markers
The Copic Sketch marker holdd approximately 1.5 – 2 cc ink
Copic Original marker
The Original Copic marker holds approximately 2-3 cc ink
Copic Wide markers
The Wide Copic marker holds approximately 3-4 cc ink
How soon you will need to refill your markers will  depend upon the paper you use and your coloring style.
Soft paper will absorb the ink faster and use more ink……   and that means you will need to refill more often.
