MarkerPOP!: Fixing Those Pesky Stamping Errors!

Hello everyone!
Today I am sharing a Soft Violet color combo and a
mini tutorial on fixing stamping errors.

Soft Violet
B23, BV11, BV00 and BV0000
(Optional High Intensity BV25)
Supplies

Lazy Susan Buggies (Whimsy Meljen's Designs)

See the leaf on your right?   When I am in a hurry I often get uneven stamping.
There was a time when I would flip the paper over and re-stamp.
Not necessary :D

The 0.03 Copic Black Mulitiliner easily fixes the  stamping error.
It would be difficult to see where the leaf did not
stamp evenly.

That is just an easy peasy fix for stamping errors.
Now, I will color the image and show you how the  error
will will not show at all
After all, can't we all use a few little tips along the way? :D

The BV0000 was applied to the areas that I will want in shadow.
This is a technique I use to test the water and see if I am satisfied with the shadow area.

BV23 was applied as my shadow color.

When I have four colors in my basic combo, I have two mid-tones.
Mid-tones comprise most of the image.
B11 was applied from the shadow area and extended out a small amount.

BV00, the lightest mid-tone was applied and gently flicked inward.

BV0000, my highlight was applied.

The process was repeated on the second flower.
It is best to work with small areas.
This will allow the ink to remain wet and facilitate blending.

For those who love high contrast, BV25 can be added to the areas very cautiously to
areas that you want to have the least amount of light.
My motto is "less is more".
To use the high intensity in a small amount can give your image
 a more dramatic effect.

The focal image, card base and designer paper accents were layered with
Bazzell Gumdrop card stock.
It is a great color that coordinates with violet!

Disclosure:  I learned my coloring techniques from the fabulous Suzanne Dean, CMC.
Any bad habits I may have picked up I did so on my own! LOL

I hope you enjoyed this mini tutorial!

Come back soon and I hope you leave a comment!

Hugs,  Marie

  7. Lovely image, and nice tutorial. Thanks for taking time to write this up. I've found those multi liners to be a life saver. Also enjoyed the way you added the shadows to the petals first, rather than the lighter colors, as is usual. My eye usually does not like the 'strong contrast', so that's something I have to work hard to achieve that look. TFS such a beautiful card and some good tips. Hugs
