Botanic Window Card

Hello and WELCOME!
I am so glad you stopped by!

Heartfelt Creations' wonderful Botanic Set has been so much fun playing with this  past month!    I can't stop thinking of all the fun things that can be done with the Botanic Window die!    I decided to create a window card and use some acetate to the window to give the appearance of glass!

Other Products
120 lb. white card-stock, olive and violet  colored 80 lb. card-stock, double sided tape, rhinestones. fine detail embossing powder, embossing ink stamp pad and heat tool.

Instructions
An 11 x 5 1/2 in. white card-stock was scored and folded at 5 1/2 inches.  This produces a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch card.   Three pieced of  green card-stock was cut at 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches.  Select the designer paper you want from the Botanic Orchid Paper Collection  and cut three layers at 5 x 5 inches.    I love how the paper collection coordinates with the stamps and die!

Die-cut two intricate white Botanic Windows with 65 - 80 lb. white card-stock. The window die has three pieces.   I removed the middle  frame to allow the outer frame and inner ornate part of the window to become one piece.  Emma Lou has a video on all the variety of cuts this die will allow you to create!  https://www.heartfeltcreations.us/video/122/ez-techniques-to-create-3d-botanic-orchids-for-hand-stamped-cards-heartfelt-creations    Don't worry, the intricate design of the window die will release easily and you don't even need to use wax paper!    Hand cut some acetate that will fit the window.

Stamp and color the hummingbirds.  I used Copic Alcohol Ink Markers to color my hummingbirds.  The colors I used were - B000, B21, B24, B26, RV00, RV04, RV25.    The hummingbirds were die-cut and the wings lightly shaped with the flower shaping kit.   I wanted the wings to gently curl forward, as if in flight.

The fuchsia were stamped  on violet card-stock with white fine detail embossing powder and cut with the coordinating die.   The flowers were shaped with he flower shaping kit.   Emma Lou's  fantastic video on how to shape the perfect fuchsia can be found here -     https://www.heartfeltcreations.us/video/2/how-to-create-the-cascading-fuchsia-flowerhttps://www.heartfeltcreations.us/video/2/how-to-create-the-cascading-fuchsia-flower

The card base window  was cut using  several steps.  I used the  middle frame to cut the window in my card base and layers.    The middle frame was positioned and die cut on the front of the  card base.  The designer paper  was adhered  to the front of the card over the window frame.   The card was opened  and the middle frame was  then placed in the negative space the window.  this will allow the layer to be cut in perfect alignment with the card base.    The window opening was die-cut.  The process  can be repeated for the upper flap of the inside of the card.  (This is an optional step for the upper flap on the inside)  It is gorgeous without the extra layers!

And now the beautiful detailed window frame will be applied to the front of the card.   Adhere the acetate to the underside of the detailed window.  Adhere to the front of the card. The second detailed window can be  aligned with the window opening on the inside of the  card.

The base layer and designer paper can be applied to the bottom of the inside of the card.  I selected a paper that would allow me to enclose a personal message.

The front of the card was embellished with rhinestones, fuchsia and hummingbirds.
