Stamper's Quest: Make A Wish!

Hello to all my friends!  I am wrapping up my week off.   It has been very busy - Cropping with my crafty friends and making cards ahead so I don't get behind!   You know what I mean.   Work tends to get in the way of great fun!   :D

This is a card i created with a detailed tutorial  for Stamper's Quest.  It is a FREE online magazine filled with tutorials from some wonderful artists.   It is a "must see" site!    It is always filled with great ideas.  I always learn a lot from my peers.  

I created a tutorial on making balloons look transparent.  this is a technique that can be applied to anything you want to have a transparent appearance.    It is a neat little trick that adds a lot of realism to the mage.   Of course, I couldn't resist my little doodling.  I think I will try to secretly doodle or texturize something - no matter how small on each of my images.  It pushes me a little to try something different.  You may have to look hard to find it on some crds.... but it will ALWAYS be there! :D

Outlawz: Guest Designer for April!

I am so excited to announce that I have been selected to be  a Guest Designer for Twisted Thursday's at the Outlawz!   I am the first guest designer for the wonderful challenge group!   How cool is that!

 I wanted to make sure I did a really good job on my first post for them so I used this adorable image from Nicecrane Designs.   Ignacio Molina sent me this wonderful little image to use and it was a sheer delight to color!

I had a wonderful time yesterday cropping with my friends.   What better way to spend a day than hanging with your friend cropping and grainy on delicious food!   YEP!   It works for me!

Hi everyone!   I hope everyone is having a fabulous Friday!  It's my turn to post on iCopic Lover and since it's Friday - I get to share anything with you - Designers choice!  That's my kind of post!   I have selected an adorable image from SWALK called Best Pals.   I couldn’t resist this little guy fishing with his best pal!   It certainly makes me think of Spring!

I paper pieced the frog and  layered the card.  I and hand quilled some cattails to give more dimension.

iCopic: Chocolate? Did Someone Say Chocolate?

Hello to all my wonderful friends!   It is 3-D Thursday at ICopic and it's my turn to post a  DT project.    I used an adorable Tilda image called Tilda With Pony Tail from Magnolia Stamps.    Isn't she so cute!

I don't know about you but I am always looking for a quick table favor or a little gift to give someone and this is a gift I just love to give.

Skin tones:  YR0000, YR000, YR01 and a touch of R20

Light Blond Hair:  Y11, Y21, E97, E99

Blouse:  RV01, RV93, RV95, RV00.   I bridged the 95 and 99 in order to make it blend well.   

Copic Multiliner Purple 0.3mm.  

Jeans/Socks:  BG75, BG72, BG70, Colorless Blender

Shoes:  C00, C1, C3, Turquoise Copic Multiliner 0.3 mm and Copic Gray Multiliner 0.3mm

 The Clear  Pillow Boxes  come in a variety of  sizes.    I like the 51/2 in x 31/2 in  size because it holds a lot of chocolate.....and who doesn't like chocolate!   The tags can be changed to fit any occasion.   It is simple to do and Hersheys Nuggets fit just perfect.   Yummmm!

Hello From Little Sammy

Hello From Little Sammy

Hello  to all my wonderful friends!  I hope the beginning of you week is going along smoothly and the weekend will soon be in sight!   I want to share my card I created yesterday.  I decided to try my hand at sketching my own design...   Don't laugh!  

This is a drawing I did yesterday and decided to name him Little Sammy and color him up with Copic alcohol ink markers.  

Copics Used:

E35, E33, E31 and E000.  I added a little E37 to give more depth to the shadow areas.

Eyes: C10 and Copic Opaque White Ink

I added some Zentangle to the image with my Copic Gray Multiliner 0.3mm.   I am not pleased with the whiskers....  Oh well.... I should have left well enough alone!   I am new at drawing!  I shall improve!:D

So, what is Zentangle?   It is a way of repeating patterns to create beautiful images.   It has been said to be relaxing....   I have never been much of "doodler" but let's see how it goes!   It was a creative technique created by Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts  The history can be found HERE.   Classes are given on this and I will be first in line if they give any in my neck of the woods!  This is a great site for  -  Zentangle

• Fun (Now that's right up my alley!)

• Not expensive (I like that..... more money for Copics!)

I think he turned out kinda cute! I like the little twinkle in his eyes and he looks like he is just the friendliest little guy!

Fun Bookmarks

A big "hello" to all my fabulous friends!  I am excited to  share my little whimsical bookmark I created for my iCopic DT and some bookmarks I created for Nicecrane Designs.    I selected the adorable little Penny Johnson image by Stampavie called Sweet Dreams.

When I was taking my Standard and Intermediate Copic Certification classes with Marianne Walker last November, I smile as I remember her saying,  - "Marie, you learned you lessons well.  You are doing an excellent job with Copics and you learned all the rules.  But your work is boring.  People will not keep their eyes on it for an extra long time.   Now you need to break the rules"!   Wow!  OK.   So I have looked at many different people's work and tried to find ways to "break the rules. 

I decided to add some "fun and whimsy" to my work.   I grabbed a 0.3mm  Olive Copic Multiliner and started doodling.    It feels fun and carefree to do this and  gives an interesting little effect to the image. You can use the same color or change colors and provide greater color variations.   Maybe you will want to mix it up!   Either way  - it's fun to just see all the different and crazy things you can do with Copic markers and multiliners!

I created these children''s bookmarks  from some adorable images from Nicecrane Designs.

I think these little images would look just great in a Mother Goose book for children.  They are fun and so easy to make!

I selected this adorable image from La-La Land Crafts called Mermaid Marci for my project.  Marci is quite  a party girl and she heard that Mad for Markers  was having a Birthday Bash.   Well, who doesn't love a party?   Marci headed right on over to celebrate the Big Event! 

I created my  project using Copic markers.

Mermaid scales , fin and top: BG000, BG10, BG32

I quilled the seaweed and Seahorse.  

I used Label One Spellbinders Nestabilities for the mat and attached to a gift bag. 

 Of course I filled the gift bag with a little wine....   

As I said... Marci really knows how to party!

CMC Celebrates Birthday Bash!

It's All about the Accessories!  

Starting March 19th thru March 24th the CMC Classroom will have its 2nd Birthday Bash HERE!  There will will be  a full schedule of events for all the games, challenges, chats & prizes starting March 17th!  So mark your calendars for a week full of fun!!

For my Birthday Bash card, I selected this adorable little image from Mo Manning called  "It's All About the Accessories".   I just think Spike is adorable.    He is all fixed up and ready to celebrate!

I had fun doodling on the image and getting him all accessorized for the Big Bash!

Party Animal!   Happy Birthday CMC!

It is hard to believe that CMC is 2 years old!   I started taking my first Copic class two years ago - and it truly has been terrific.   Our Boss Lady is Suzanne Dean and she is a fabulous instructor and a great friend.    She's funny  and a pure delight to know. I  am super proud to be able to say I have served on Suzanne's  Design Team from the beginning and still going strong!   (Big Smile)!

Suzanne's Copic classes  started out as a Copic class -----  Then it quickly expanded to many fabulous classes on Copics,  Prisma Pencils, Magnolia images, and Distress Ink.  She has an active, fulfilled biweekly challenge that is open to everyone using Copics, Alcohol Ink Markers and/or Colored  Pencils.   Our Challenge group is a crazy bunch but the discussions are lively and we truly enjoy each other.
