Hello to all my friends in Cyber-land! SP & Company is having an exciting Online Event with challenges, challenges and more challenges going NOW!! We are have a great couple of days getting to know you better, chatting and just sharing all the projects we are working on! If you have not visited yet, you can check it out HERE.
This is a card I created for our SP & Company Online Chat Challenge. This card will go live for the challenge HERE at 4 pm Pacific time (7 pm Eastern time). I hope you stop by and participate my challenge! The theme I selected is…. "GLITTER". Sometimes a girl just needs to glitz it up! LOL I just ove using glitter in all forms. I have often used glitter to add some glitz to the edges of my cards or for a design but I have never added pearls to it. I saw one of Gina K's cards on Facebook where one of her designers added pearls to it. I tried to find it yesterday until my fingers got tired. I wanted to give credit where credit was due but did not find it. I will just say - the inspiration came from Gina K! I really think the pearls add so much. For an additional twist - I colored my pearls with Coipic Alcohol Ink Markers and added a few colored pearls among all the ivory ones. I like the effect.
I used the Awareness is Empowering clear stamp from SP & Company. I Think this will make a wonderful card for a few of my friends that have been fearless and strong and speak in loud voices about the hope that is out there for women and yes, occasionally men fighting breast cancer. I cheer you on, my friends!
I used my new Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Nine and sponged the edges with Memento Angel Pink dye ink from Tsukineko.
I used a larger nesting die to create my pink mat for the focal image.
I used some double sided tape around the edges. Any double sided tape can be used but Scor-tape or Red Tape has a lot of adhesive for good holding power.
I placed ivory colored pearls in a few places and then added some pink pearls for accent. I added Sugar coating Lily White Glitter by Doodlebug Design, Inc. around the edges and applied pressure with some tissue paper to allow it to firmly adhere. I did not want to use my fingers because I did not want the oil from my skin to remove the sticky adhesive of the tape. Any fine crystal colored glitter will work.
I attached a bow on one side and a little ribbon tail on the other side. Is that what you call it? Tail? LOL
I have also been asked to teach an art class at our local craft store (Gulp)! My knees are knocking. This will be one of the three cards I will be teaching for my first class. Wish me luck! Someone else will be teaching a "basic class" and I was asked to teach intermediate. They do not sell Copics or colored pencils so I am up the creek trying to figure out cards that will step up the techniques and NO Copics! Big tears running down my cheeks! LOL
In addition to our wonderful challenge at SP & Company Online Chat Event, I will link this card to the following challenges:
- SP & Company Online Chat Event: Glitter

I hope you join in on this challenge and you return to our SP & Company Online Chat Event and see why is next on our list of fun and games!
