New Life

This is a card I submitted for the Through the Craftroom Door Design Team Call. I was not selected but I did enjoy participating!



“New Life”

Technique Pastels and feathering technique as in CMCC Class 2 #11 and using Spica pens, Class 3 by Suzanne Dean
Card Base 5.5 in. X 8.5 in.
Measurements:
Score and fold at 4.25 in. (This makes card for a 2A envelope)
Base Layer 4 in. X 5.25 in.

Supplies:
Focal Image: GKD/Illustrated by Theresa Momber “Warm With Love”

Background Image: Gina K Designs/Theresa Momber “Warm With Love”

Copic Markers:
Butterfly: YG0000 YG11, YG13, YG17, RV00, RV23, RV63, RV66 (I just had to try that wonderful new raspberry!!! I blended the tip of my RV23 and RV 63 to blend and the tip of my 63 to my 66!) Atyou Spica # 12 Silver


Iris: Y00, Y13, Y15, Y19 and a touch of YR04 V01, V04, V05, V06, V09 V000, G28, YG63 and G40.

Background C3, YG63,

Card Stock : GKD Pure Luxury White, Pure Ivory, Vibrant Violet, Lemon Drop

Ink : Memento Black, Canteloupe, New Sprout and Pear Tart

Tools: Scor-Pal or Scor-Buddy, Paper Cutter (I use Fiskars), Scissors (Tim Holtz helps reduce pain for those with arthritis!), Quickie Glue Pen, Adhesive,large sponge daubers, Cuttlebug or die cutter, Kassies Brocade embossing folder and Spellbinders Nestabilities Petite Largeand Small Die

Tip of the Day: Spica markers have glitter in the ink and work best when stored horizontally to prevent clogging the flow of ink!

  4. Oh my goodness - your card is amazing! I didn't know they were looking for a new team. I had a card published once but it was not nearly as pretty as yours is. Keep trying - you WILL get noticed

  5. OmGosh Marie! This card is beautiful! The iris looks so real. I am so sorry you weren't chosen but there will always be a next time and I am sure you will get in. That little butterfly is to die for! You really colored it up beautifully. Love it!
