Double Your Pleasure!

Hello everyone!  I spent some relaxing time at the Delta this weekend and I am very late posting my cards for two fun and exciting challenges.

My card for the crazy, funny group of  Tea-potters for Teapot Tuesday - Splitcoaststampers is a cute little image from Kenny K called Troublemaker.   Since the theme with Teapot Tuesday is Gingerbread, ginger cookies, and the like... I have named my card "Ginger Snap"

Ginger Snap
There once was a girl  named Ginger Snap
Who wants something sweet after her nap,

She walks to the sweet shop
And makes it non-stop

She orders a ginger cone
While talking on her phone.

It's a double scoop ice cream
Like one you've never seen,

You know what I mean...
Its Ginger Snaps sweet dream...
She absolutely LOVES ice cream!

Technique:
  • Copic Alcohol Markers
  • On paper ink blending

And for my next card challenge... I am too late to enter.... (my mother always said better late than never !! LOL)   Top Tip Tuesday Challenge 44  is a great site for learning a variety of paper crafting tips and suggestions.   The challenge for this week is to make a "GIRLIE" card!   I selected a beautiful image from Sugar Nellie called Faith Standing.   I have named the card "All dressed Up!".

    • Printer for digital image
    Embellishment
    Ribbon

Stamp image with Memento Desert Sand.  I always like to stamp a portion of my image off the paper to add more interest.

I sponged Memento Angel Pink, Rose Bud and Summer Sky diagonally across the paper.

I used Petite Oval to cute my focal image with my Spellbinder Nestabilities die and Cuttlebug.  I flipped the image over on an A and B plate and used a couple rubber craft mats on top and a B plate  to emboss the edges.  Leave the embossing die on the image and place some tape on the underside to secure the image to the die.   Gengly sponge Memento Summer Sky around the edges.  Less is more!  Sponge very lightly.  Sponge starting off the image and sponge toward the image.  Repeat the process.

This is how the image looks after removing it from the die.  See how you have added a great embossed white boarder to the image with this technique?

I added a strip of yellow ribbon and ties two simple ties at each end.  Assemble the card and enjoy.
Tip of the Day:  Try making your own background designer paper.  I stamped an image with Memento Desert Sand and then sponged some ink in a  rainbow colored manner.  This is one way you can obtain a perfectly coordinated background.    The possibilities are endless.

I hope you enjoyed these cards... even though they are very late!   Please stop back soon!!!

    Hugs,
    Marie
