The Outlawz:Twisted Thursday - Mixed Media

Welcome!   It's time for another challenge at The Outlawz: Twisted Thursday.  Our challenge is always "Anything Goes" but if you want to participate in the twist - it is "Mixed Media".   Your card will go in for two opportunities to win from our fabulous sponsor!

This is the card I created for this challenge.   I used the wonderful stamp with a bird.    I love this image - but then I love birds.  I have 3 wonderful feather babies and my heart sweels with pride every time I look at this little guys.

I am trying some new techniques - so with this card,   I used  a watercolor wash for a marbleized background.

Stamp
Birds & Blossoms (GKD)

Technique:
Mixed Media
  • Copics Ink - Sepia Tone
  • Colored Pencil for texture
  • Watercolor Washes
  • Natural white from the paper for highlights

Copics Used:

Colored Pencil:
Sienna Brown Prismacolor Pencil

Watercolor Wash:
  • Flesh

I am linking this card with the following wonderful challenges:

Inspiration for the Day

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week.   I am sure a few of you are still enjoying a few vacations -  I know I will be having mine in the Fall.   I plan to go to a book conference in New York called Bouchercon.   It is a yearly even, although the location changes every year.     I have not had a long vacation for some time so I plan to spend around 2 weeks in Sanibel, FL in October.   Woo Hoo!   You won't recognize me when I return.....   i will be so mello!

Thank you for stopping by - I really appreciate it and be safe and CRAFTY!

  2. Beautiful background, a fab technique. I'm a sucker for birds too, LOL and yours is delightful. Thanks for linking up with Make It Monday - sorry we are short on DT and I was browsing and noticed nobody had popped in to comment on your lovely card.
