THCRD: Grandpa Teddy Bear

Grandpa Teddy Bear

Through The Craftroom Door is having a new challenge up for you!   The these is "DISTRESS".
That is always fun and there are so many different ways to distress!
For this challenge we have a $10.00 Gift Certificate for Guylou's Inimitability - adorable digi's!

I used this adorable image from Guylou's Inimitability for my Design Team card.   It is a digital called Grandpa Bear.  Isn't Grandpa adorable?

Techniques:
Copic alcohol in marker,
On page blending,
Fur,
Faux watercolor effect with Copics for background
Distressing
A little "Whimsy".

Copic Markers Used
Bear E35, E33, E31, E30 touch of E57, R20
Vest:  R25, R22, R20 and sandwiched C5 for darkest shadow
Shirt and Hat: B16, B14, B12 and a touch of B26
I am trying to learn my new camera and the shading did not show up very well.
I guess I need to practice my settings!  There is a lot more contrast in the original. I am trying to lighten my background behind the card so it doesn't look grey but the whole image became lighter. :(

I am linking this card to the following challenges:

I have been practicing drawing.   I decided to try some Manga.   This is  just a practice piece.
I just love the tutorials that Neva does on her blog.  I have been practicing her technique for eyes.  If you get time, check out her blog..... you will be in for a big treat!   I love her work so much that I ordered a couple picots from her.    They are even more gorgeous in person!

I need to re-draw this picture on some Copic-compatible paper.  I think I will try to practice a little dawning every day.

This was the little visitor I had in my back yard.
He loves to strut his stuff!

Aww moment for the day

Thank you for stopping by and spending some time!!   Hope to see you soon!

  3. Marie, you certainly did a fabulous on that adorable grandpa bear. It look gorgeous with the watercolor effect. You've been holding out on us. Your drawing skills are right up there with the best of them. Keep up the good work, I won't say practice because I don't see where you need any practice. Hey that turkey looks like he is right at home. Enjoy your weekend.

  4. First off, your card is sensational! I love his little outfit. Secondly, WOW, your drawing and eyes are amazing. I love to see this about you...always trying new things and excelling at them as well. Thirdly, that is sooooo weird. I took a picture last week in my backyard of a turkey too! How odd...I've never seen one around here before and there it was. Perhaps it's a currier turkery...I should have attached a hello note! LOL
Hugs to you Marie and keep up the great drawings!
